Nowhere

Asinthe just relaesed their new teaser for their film nowhere. I am going to go out on a limb and claim this will be the video of the year. I am stoked for this one. Loaded with homies from back home and tons of amazing shredding...this will be a goody. Enjoy! Full screen this one!

Make up your mind, but I know how HE feels about reverse camber.

I know that reverse camber boards are all the rage, but some people don't like them too much. Personally I think that they are way fun in powder at the resort, but for anything else, they really are super sketchy and unstable. I have ridden so many varieties and my conclusion is that nothing can beat a cambered board for any situation. But as the saying goes, different strokes for different folks. Some people are a little more vocal on the subject than me, people such as the old arch nemesis Aldolph. What do you think about the technology? Let me know, I am curious.

This is sick, kind of blown away...

Kazu can shred stuff other than pipe, really well too. Total boss.

The Gigi Movie Trailer

This movie is going to be the Bee's Knees. With a cast of heavy hitters from all over the Volcom and shredding universe, the Gigi Movie, (with the more specific title of "9191") will melt faces from here to Beijing. From what I have heard through the grapevine, there will be some serious hammers in this one, from everybody's favorite shredder. Prost!

Lake Tahoe USA!

LAke Tahoe is a beautiful place. We drove through there at the end of May and stuck around for a few days. Erin, Asher and I were starting our Summer vacation and were pleasantly greeted by a massive snowstorm that blanketed the whole valley in fresh Sierra Cement. Although the temps were cold, it was beautiful and we got a bit of shredding in at Alpine meadows too. Not a bad start to the annual summer trip to the Northwest. Not bad at all.

That One Guy...

I know this one guy. He is real, dirty...well he is real dirty. Tucker Andrews is the definition of Man-Boy. At the fresh age of 18, this whippersnapper can snowboard most fools into the ground and laugh the entire time. The reason I am posting this is simple...I was sifting through some photos that hadn't been uploaded and I found this one of Tuck. It compelled me to put it on my blog and write some words. His attitude should be the envy of most, and his style on any type of board should be the goal for everyone, whether they are half, or double his age. Watch out for this gut, because if you are not careful he will sneak up form behind you, steal your beer, weird out your girlfriend and not think twice about it...because he is simply TUCK. You the man.

World Cup 2010

So we are in full World Cup fever up here on Lopez Island Wa. Although the USA has been eliminated after their inspiring run through the first four games, Ash, Han and I have been tuning in religiously every morning to watch the matches. It is incredible how this tournament can come around every four years and transform the world around us. I know that in my life, 99.9% of the people around me (excluding my family and a few close friends) couldn't give a rat's ass about soccer. Now, especially after the inspiring football of the U.S. squad played, people are going gaga for this stuff. Now, average Joe Shcmoe can be heard walking down the street with his 22 oz. coffee talking about a brilliant ball or the pristine condition of the pitch, whereas a month ago he would have been talking about Tony Stewart and how much of a bitch Danica Patrick is (but in reality she is a total babe). The World Cup can become a sappy affair, just like the Olympics, but all of the inspirational messages are regurgitated for a reason. It is an event that transcends sport, politics and religion, far more than the Olympics or any other event. Football really i the game of the people. And the amazing thing is that a game with a ball and 22 players on a field really can make the world a more lively and hospitable place, even though it may only last for one month. And for all of that, I am grateful.
