Some Scenes from Athens this summer.

So, I travelled to Greece this summer to attend my friend Andrea's wedding in the southern part of the country. Athens is really the only city to fly into. So we decided to spend a few days here and scope out the center of the ancient Athenian City-State. Athens is a city that is full of stark contrast. The center of the city is nothing but amazing ruins, and surrounding the artifacts is nothing but miles and miles of sprawling, modern city. Despite all of the rumors, I enjoyed Athens. The history and the hospitality of the Greek people enchanted me from the moment I left the airport.

View of the Parthenon from the Agora.

The Erechtheion on the Acropolis, being supported by the 6 Karyatides.
The coolest Congalese musicians, posting up on their street corner. I talked to these guys for more than an hour. They were amazing.
Impirial Bust in the Agora.
Ancient columns litter the ground all over Athens.

The Plaka Flea Market.
Old meets new everywhere in Athina.
